The drivers for these devices will prevent the programmer from operating correctly.

PROGRAMMING GOLD WAFER CARDS and PCB TYPE without removing chips
1) Make sure both printer and serial cable is connected to the Multi Programmer and the on board switch is set to PP. Also make sure a suitable power supply is connected (15-18V DC recommended).
2) Run the programmer software. The software should auto detect the programmer. If an error message appears check both cable connections and the power supply.
3) Select Single PIC underneath the Card Slot options. Then click on the PIC tab towards the top left hand side of the screen (next to Setup).
4) Make sure chip type is set to PIC16F84 (set to this as standard) and click the load button on the right hand side. Find and select where you have saved your loader.hex file to (This is needed for through PIC programming of the Goldcard eeprom) and click open.
5) Insert your Goldcard into the card slot on the Multi Programmer (contacts face down). Now click the program button on the right hand side. This should now begin to program the PIC chip.
6) Once this is completed click the Setup tab towards the top right of the screen. Now set the on board programmer switch to SRW and click the Smartcard RW button towards the bottom right of the screen.
7) The software will ask which COM port the programmer is connected to. Select the correct one and click OK.
8) Click the Load Hex button on the left hand side underneath where it says MM2 Keys. Now find and select where you have stored the eprom.hex file for the card you are programming and click open.
9) Now click the Program button on the bottom left of the screen and the eeprom on the Goldcard will begin to program.
10) Once finished return to the main software page (click the bottom X towards the top right of the programmer screen). Make sure you now set the on board switch back to PP.
11) You should now follow steps 3-5 again but instead of using the loader.hex this should this time be replaced with the actual PICF84.hex.
12) Once step 11 has been completed your Goldcard should be fully programmed and ready for use.
